My views on the cabaret circuit today and yesteryear
Saturday, 17th March 2007, 5:00pm
I just think we are so lucky to have such a choice of venues in this town. The standard of cabaret in pubs, bars and clubs is second to none. I feel it would be nice if a collection of memories from artists and audience alike could be put together.
Last weekend there was a charity fundraiser at Marthas, Portsmouth. Over £2,000 was raised for a local charity Inscape in memorie of Malcolm Bryan who was killed last year. The cabaret consisted of amongst others, Cassidy Connors, lucinda Lashes, Tony Page, Maisie Trollette, Jamie Watson, Jennie Castelle, Polara and Davina Sparkle.
Tomorrow is Golden Handbags with Drag with no name, Lola Lasagne, Nobbie Williams, Maisie Trolette, Dave Lynne and Paul Zennon. What a line up in a relatively small town like Brighton. In the bars there is Trashville Tennesee, Jaquie Plunkett and Jamie Watson and Josh Mills. What a place to live entertainment on tap and for free.
