So Friday night a work mate of mine had her birthday and it just so happens that her partner is the lovely leprechaun herself, Sharon, who owns the Zone.
So that night Miss Hap, Betty Swollocks, Straight Steve, Lady James and myself (apologies to anyone I have forgotton) took to the stage for an evening of fun and frolic. Well there was a lot of fun, I didn't get any frolic despite chatting to a gorgeous, and rather drunk, choreographer called Lee for an hour or so after the show. Out of my league springs to mind, but then I apply that to most men.
Anyhow thanks to my performance Friday night I now have my first solo booking and its paid too! On the 7th October at the Zone. Ahh, see do 25 charity gigs in one year and you will get paid at the end of it lol.
Back to this week on Tuesday night it is session 3 of the Cabaret Academy with the lovely Dave Lynn. Slight complication this week in that both myself and Steve Bustin are in the academy and both scheduled to appear at the Marlborough for the LGBT Switchboard fundraiser. Its alright for Steve, he can run between the two but 19 stone of drag queen in spike heels is a different matter, I'd be tearing up tunks of street by V2 or along St Jimmies.
If you see an blonde drag queen (wig resembling Kathleen Turner as Chandlers dad in "Friends") wearing a corset and a red satin skirt flying between Charles Street and The Marlborough throwing up clods of tarmac shout "Hi Cherry"!
