For many years now, I have had hankerings to be a tellycritic, so now I get my chance....

It's that perennial moan - Christmas television.
With every rerun channel getting rather over-excited with old episodes of The Two Ronnies and Only Fools and Horses I stuck mainly to the terrestrial. Although, i have to say I was delighted to catch the re-run of Elizabeth I with Helen Mirron - fabulous!
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without some form of top ten single of the year / poll-winners party / Robbie concert and then it's time to pop your fist up the turkey's jacksy and return to the box after getting slightly squiffy on some old cooking sherry you found while trying to find the peppercorns.
Ahh... Her Majesty (Liz, not Jo - although I think she ought to have at least popped a Christmas blog up on the day itself...). She didn't really have an awful lot to say this year - and no mention of Millie.
Then, in the evening, its the battle of the soaps. Corrie, usually with a comic twist, and 'Enders, usually with a storyline to get the razors desperate to get into an artery. This year, I was quite pleasantly surprised with it - a nice, heartwarming ending with snow and sleighbells - and then they had to ruin it all on New Year's Eve... Ho Hum.
Unfortunately, for my intrepid introductions into Telly Blogging, I got a 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' DVD game - so it was off to phone a friend for most of the Christmas period... And I'm now getting rather addicted to the West Wing. Do you think it's a little ostentatious to think that we should have a modified 747 flying us around the country - maybe RB1. Or maybe RB Airways (the REAL BA)... I digress...
Oh, well. Back to the scheduling to plan my next critique - Liticia Dean is perhaps too easy a target.

How many husbands can Sharon (Leticia Dean) lose in one soap!

Personally I've always thought an RB helicopter would be a fab idea. We could land it on the helipad on top of RealBrighton towers. Failing that we could have RB Island where RB 1/2/3/4 burst out of the swimming pool to save Britain from another photographic disaster. But then I guess Huw would have...
read more to live in a space station orbiting earth, which wouldn't be any fun for James!

Not necessarily a problem - in space nobody can hear you snore!

(Perhaps you should test your theory, Huw, with a glass bell jar and a vacuum cleaner...?)
Votes for the best TV show over Christmas 2005, anyone?
I didn't see much telly, but my vote goes to the Catherine Tate Christmas special. She's rather good, isn't she!

Don't encourage him. I've had to hide his physics and chemistry experiment laboratories as it is....
