The final nominations are out and Brighton features very heavily across the board.
In the BEST BAR ON THE SOUTH COAST,you can choose from Brighton Rocks, Dr Brightons, Charles Street, The Marlborough and The Princess Victoria.
In the BEST CLUB ON THE SOUTH COAST, you can choose from, Wild Fruit, Revenge, Candy Bar, Ruby's (Bournemouth) and The Edge (Southampton).
The Candy Bar is up for BEST WOMEN'S VENUE, alongide Polo Lounge (Glasgow), Oak Bar (London), Star At Night (London) and Candy Bar (London).
The Drag with No Name is in the running for BEST CABARET ACT, alongside Sandra, Topping & Butch, Pam Ann and D.E Experience.
The most eclectic category is SCENE PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR where the nominations are Lola Lasagne, Dave Lynn, Graham Norton, Amy Lame and Yr Mum, Yr Dad.

Celebrity of the year and hero of the year (which seems by the choices they are exactly the same award)..
World's sexiest man.. now i know its getting stupid cos it says "me" in one of the options..
best GAY BLOGG of the year.. how many gay bloggs do you know??
anyway in total there are 68 categories to choose from! there is no way im going to sit down and answer all of them. if pink paper is really serious about doing a crediable "awards" show they need to cut the categories to at most 15???
(a perfect example is brightons golden handbags!!)
p.s. does anyone know when that is??

Remember that the Pink Paper is a national paper, reflecting on all aspects of gay life. The Handbags are just for Brighton and it's scene, but we still have nearly 20 awards!!
read more section or the 'young people and students' section, as my days of those are long gone.........LOL!
Also, on the Pink's online voting form, it does say that you don't have to vote for everything. I didn't vote on the bloggs...
And also, the nominations are the final 5 after a couple of months of preliminary voting, but I'm surprised that Chris Moyles didn't figure, although calling something gay is slightly redundant compared to the actions of the nominees in that category!
By the way, the Handbags are on Sunday 18th March 2007!

the MTV video music awards is an international award show, and they only have 20 categories. the idea of an award show is to be the best of the best. any winner in the pinkpaper awards will just get lost along with many of the other winners, such as "best financial advisor", "best car" or "best unde...

or maybe im just jelous that i diddnt get nonimated for anything....

I note that nobody bothered to vote for us. How very dare you - you should all be ashamed....Perhaps you could vote for us in the all new Gay Times Awards? It would make a change for someone other than Gaydar to win best website...
Anyway - in answer to Rob - Golden Handbags are probably going to be in March....
