I’m not sure if anyone noticed on the news this evening, but outside the houses of Parliament Christian groups were protesting about gay men and women being allowed equal rights!
I was particularly disturbed to watch priests and members of Christian groups being so discriminating towards homosexuals and the way we live our lives. Whilst Peter Tachelle (think that’s how you spell it) is very militant he made some very good points supporting gay men and women.
Considering Britain is so liberal minded towards other peoples race and religious beliefs I find it very hard to believe that our own government is not only debating whether we should have equal rights but it sits by as religious groups act in such a discriminatory way towards gay men and women. I’m sure if it was Christian groups protesting about Muslims, the disabled and people from ethnic minorities it would be a very different story.
Please tell me I am not the only person frustrated by this????

No, you're not the only person frustrated by it. But, as I understand it, the issue is more about people/businesses having the right to choose who they serve... much like clubs and bars say 'right of admission reserved'. And I don't think it's just Christians... I think Muslims and others have been ...
read moreprotesting too.
Whilst I don't believe that anyone person or group of people should force their beliefs on anyone else, I do believe (to a degree) that people have a right to their choice. Otherwise, where does it stop? Bars wouldn't be able to refuse to serve drunks; pedophiles would be welcomed at school sports days...

It comes down to the old saying... i might disagree with what they have to say, but i defend their right to say it.
read more do so. People with Christian beliefs should be able to do the same.
it is a thin line, for example if you owned a hotel and had a booking from a total right wing homophobe, you as the owner might refuse them entry as it is your hotel and your right to...
To be honest why on earth would any off us want to give money to a business that didn't welcome us freely anyway? You can't change peoples attitude with legislation, if that was the case there would never be any crime. Education and awareness are the best tools we have.
