“Good Luck”, to all those nominees for Brighton’s most prestigious and converted GOLDEN HANDBAG AWARDS!!!!! Tonight should be a great laugh so I’ve decided to drag my beautiful boyfriend and my close personal friend and “Golden Handbag Nominee” Alistar Tate (Kinky Dangerous/Wild Fruit/Rebel) along for the ride. Straight after seeing the beautiful Dulcie Danger pick up “Female D.J of the year” and my dear friend Graham (Joyride) pick up his award for “Most Sacked Personality on the Scene 2005” we will be heading down to Sundae Sundae to see why Ms Dulcie Danger got that Golden Handbag! On a more serious note, Good Luck everybody!

Congrat's 2 Dulcie, has there ever been a more deserving dj to win it each year. Sometimes it feels the votes are automatic for categories that aren't familar to the votee but constantly Dulcie could win Brighton DJ of the year without doubt. We have been blessed with too much talent for the last fe...

Poor Joyride hey,
read moreoked amazing anyway and I still think the award should of gone to Sam. Anyway if he runs down brighton beach in speedos like he did last year he may be a stronger contestant for best cabaret act. heehee.
No doubt about it Lola Lasagne deserves every bit of the handbag, just felt a bit sorry for Joyride who seemed so ham'd up for it. With the Joy ride campaign on RB to the massive cheer when she was called out it must of been a bit of a anticlimax when she didn't win. Anyhow she lo...
anyway well done the winners!

Well done to the organisers of The Golden Handbag Awards last night at the Old Market. What an amazing night of music, entertainment and seeing Brighton’s finest all together under one roof. I was lucky enough to be sitting right next to Kelly who one bar girl of the year, well done beautiful! And w...

Well I've just risen after a night of celebration...the Golden Handbags is such a great idea and always full of touching moments like the celebration of Phil Starr...Lola was amazing again! and the mayor is certainly the king of bling, what a great dad he'd be! Was so chuffed that Wild Fruit cleaned...
read more up this year with award for the best club night and Pete winning best male and Richard Jones coming up as runner-up, just goes to show what making a great effort for your punters and giving them the opportunity to experience proper house music too. We as a team are blessed with such a supportive loyal following of beautiful people...its gonna be a fantastic summer!
I was also so pleased that Kinky Dangerous came in as runner-up in best club night and best girls night (even though we're not a girls night)..that was a great surprise.
The entertainment was top-notch and everyone made an effort to dress-up too...it really was the gay oscars and I'm so proud to be part of Brighton's gay community! Thanks to Real Brighton and G Scene for having such a vision.

I feel like I've spoiled a party by winning 'scene personality'! I was as surprised as anyone that I was even nominated, let alone the winner, and even as compere/organiser I have no idea who's in the envelope until it's read out. I honestly thought that Joyride was going to win given the campaign o...
