Air

Brighton is just 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport by car, rail or coach, which serves most major European destinations and a handful of principle inter-continental routes. Scheduled operators include British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Easyjet, with Charter Airlines also offering low-cost flight options, including Monarch Airlines, ThomsonFly, XL Airways, Thomas Cook & First Choice.

London Heathrow Airport is around an 90 minutes away, depending on traffic. As the world’s busiest airport, you’ll find destinations around the globe are served from here.

Shoreham Airport offers private landing facilities for small aircraft, fixed and non-fixed wing and also scheduled services to Caen, Deauville and Le Touquet.

Bus

Brighton & Hove Buses operate buses throughout the city and routes extend to Eastbourne & Worthing. Click here for full details with route maps and timetables.

Car

The A23 runs directly north from Brighton to London and the M25 London Orbital Motorway which links to the UKs network of motorways for all mainland UK destinations.

The A27 runs from Pevensey to Portsmouth running just past the northern tip of Brighton and services destinations across the South Coast.

Coach

The UK’s largest scheduled coach network is operated by National Express. From Brighton, you can get a coach direct to Gatwick & Heathrow Airports, or Central London and from these hubs you can access coach services to main cities across mainland UK and Europe.

Ferry

Newhaven is the closest Ferry terminal port with services to Dieppe (www.transmancheferries.com) and Le Havre (www.ldlines.co.uk) in France.
Portsmouth is just 50 miles away and offers regular ferry services to Caen, Cherbourg, St Malo, Guernsey, Jersey, Le Havre, Bilbao and the Isle of Weight.
Dover & Folkestone offer fast ferry services to mainland France and are around 2 hours drive by motorway from Brighton.

Train

The Brighton to London Victoria express service is just 49 minutes and operated by Southern who also operate train services as far east along the coast as Hastings and west along the costs to Southampton.

There are also direct services to Ashford International for Eurostar trains to Europe and Watford Junction for onward journeys to the Midlands and North West of England.

Cross Country Trains operate some direct services to Watford Junction, Birmingham and Manchester.

First Capital Connect operate services from Brighton to Luton via London Bridge & City stations.
