Now in its fifth year, the Outsiders Film Festival is Liverpool's cultural festival celebrating queer works on the silver screen. With genres that touch (and in some cases more than touch) on lesbian, gay, queer, trans, emo, goth, punk and bi-curious issues. The festival has gown significantly in the last few years, having been born out of (and I quote) "a drunken night at the Inside Out Lesbian & Gay Film Festival in Toronto".
The Outsiders Film Festival is a registered charity and does rely on donations from individuals and organisations to help with the not insignificant running costs of the festival and the other work it is involved in, including Safe Sex DVDs and the patronage of young and up-and-coming filmmakers. There are also sponsorship opportunities for this festival that attracts considerable media attention.
