![]() Gay Business Forum
Formed in 2004, the Brighton & Hove Gay Business Forum now has 97 members (as of 1 August 2005). This is fast becoming the most successful forum of its kind in the country and is an extremely important network opportunity for many businesses in the area.
Made up of nightlife venues, shops, restaurants, hotels and consultancies, the businesses range from sole-traders to large companies. Lending a larger voice to an important business sector in the city the initiatives that have been borne from this group are proving to be extremely effective. Issues that are covered include licensing, safety, marketing and tourism to the city and the group are now in regular discussion with the City Council, local Police, Licensing Officers, Pride in Brighton & Hove to name just a few. This is a great step forward in improving the services that these businesses can offer and developing the environment in which they operate both to city residents and the many thousands of visitors. The group meets most months and there are also regular networking lunches that allow free and frank discussion. It's free to join, although members are encouraged to maintain a level of commitment.
