BHaGMC

BHaGMC was set up with the specific aim of providing a place where gay men can socialise, have fun and develop their vocal skills in a unique environment. Members benefit from the wide ranging musical experience from TV and theatreland and have the expertise at hand to develop their own talents with professional tuition.

A hard-working and dedicated group of guys, there is nevertheless an emphasis on having fun whilst raising funds through events for local charities and community organisations. In addition to this, Brighton & Hove (Actually) Gay Men's Chorus hopes to raise the profile of the city of Brighton & Hove nationally and internationally through their many activities.

The repertoire is fun and wide-ranging, and you can expect to experience their take on anything from Wagner to Westlife, with showtunes and popular standards thrown in for good measure. A great way of making friends, the chorus meets weekly at a centrally located venue and are actively looking for new members - whether to sing, or to help out with stage and technical support - contact them by email or through their website for more information or check our listings for their rehearsal and performance schedule.

Brighton & Hove (Actually) Gay Men's Chorus is also available to hire for events, celebrations and Civil Partnerships - contact them for details of how they can add their own unique flavour to your function.

member what they love about Brighton & Hove (actually) Gay Men's Chorus...
misshap "It's great fun learning to sing together, performing and all the socialising that also goes with it. We've perfromed in our own Concerts as well as more recently being priveleged to sing at Civil Partnerships, Birthday Celebrations and not forgetting the amazing Golden Handbag Awards which raised some fantastic money towards the permanent Aids Memorial in this City of Brighton and Hove. We're back home now in St Andrews Church, Waterloo Street on a Monday night and, as Vivian said, you don't have to be a Pavarotti but if you enjoy singing, working as part of a team and lots of Parties why not come along and join. Happy...xxxx"
IanScott "I recently joined the chorus having been to all of their concerts. I wasn't sure that I was good enough to sing, but after making coffee at rehearsals I started to join in and have now sung in the Candlelit Vigil and Twas The Night Before Christmas. It is a great atmosphere and very enjoyable."
vivian "Come and join the Chorus! We're a great bunch of guys who love to sing their hearts out every Monday night and have fun doing it. We perform in full on concerts, for gay weddings, in pubs - in fact, anywhere they'll let us! We have some amazingly talented professionals working with us but you don't have to be Pavarotti to join in - just enthusiastic and willing to share your voice with the world. Recent escapades include: the In The Mood show (reviewed here and in the Guardian); being recorded for Radio 4; our first civil partnership earlier in 06; our first birthday party in October 06 - now that was someting to sing home about!"
