Pride Park Celebrations @ Preston Park, Brighton

There are a few changes to the layout of Preston Park this year, but there are plenty of your favourites back at the park.

The Brighton Dance Tent with headlining DJs, The Freemasons, joins The Cabaret Tent and Women's Performance Tent (see our separate listings for lineups) as well as The Bear's Tent, Calabash Tent, Vavoom Bar and, of course, The Funfair - where would be be without the requisite wigs flying from a white-knuckle ride?

New for this year are the LGBT / Student Pride Charity Bar (where you can help raise funds for Pride by buying a drink or two), Youth Area and Pride Members' Enclosure (entrance for non-members is £30).

There are two market areas this year - one with a more adult flavour and one that is more family orientated (always handy in avoiding awkward questions...)

Brighton Marina is also back at the park with their 'Hi De Hi' style beach area with lots of games and activities.

You will also find on the park:-

A Police Station
St John Ambulance and First Aid
Recycling Points (please use them!)
Lost Children & Pride Information Point
Free Water
Official Bucket Collectors (please give what you can - and watch out for couterfeit collectors!)

This festival costs an enormous amount of money and to keep the event going, Pride rely on donations on the day. There will be bucket collectors, or you may wish to use the £1 nicer-toilets or the Charity Bar. There will be some fencing around the park to encourage festival goers past the collecting buckets. There is also a £5 entry fee for the dance tent. You can also donate online at www.brightonpride.org.

There is no excuse not to put something towards this incredible day.
