Pride wins at BAHBA's
Friday, 3rd September 04
Pride in Brighton and Hove was named 'Event of the Year' at the first Brighton & Hove Business Awards held at Brighton Racecourse on Wednesday 1st September, beating off competition from 'Party in the Park' and 'Brighton Festival'.
The new annual awards ceremony salutes those whose entrepreneurial and vreative talents are playing a part in putting Brighton and Hove on the economic map of 'UK PLC' and attracting inward investment in the city's future.
Organiser Caraline Brown says "The awards are about celebrating the uniqueness and vibrancy of one of the greatest places in the country". 3000 nomination forms were circulated to businesses and judged by a panel including Brighton & Hove City Council CEO David Panter and Steve Stark of Juice 107.2FM.
David Harvey, Chair of Pride, said after collecting the award "for businesses to win one of these business awards is an accolade. For a non-profit organisation run by volunteers to win is a dream come true".
Other BAHBA winners include DJ Norman Cook as joint 'Brighton Ambassador' with Brighton & Hove Albion, the Alias Seattle Hotel as 'best venue for client entertaining' and North Lain tailor Gresham Blake as 'best new kid onthe block'.
