Full charitable status secured
Friday, 17th September 04
Pride in Brighton & Hove was officially granted charitable status today by the Charity Commission of England & Wales.
The announcement comes following Pride's last Annual General Meeting, in November 2003, where the organisation's membership overwhelmingly backed Pride's new constitution and organisational structure as a non-profit incorporated members association.
Following the Charity Commission's announcement, the Pride Chair David Harvey said, "The Pride Committee and I are over the moon at the news. Our status as a registered charity will have a significant impact on the way the organisation is run and further secures Pride in Brighton & Hove's future as a bright one."
This years Pride AGM will held in November with the exact date being announced shortly. The meeting is open to all Pride Members.
