Don't Miss the Dog Show!
Tuesday, 1st July 08
On Sunday 6th July Pride in Brighton and Hove will be holding it's ever popular Companion Dog Show, from midday at Hove Rugby Football Club, Old Shoreham Road, Hove. In association with the Coastway Veterinary Group and Hove's exclusive pet store Mio Minn, The Kennel Club registered event promises to be more fun and entertainment than ever before.
Registration costs £2.00 per class and will be taken from 11.30am, entry for spectators is free and everybody is welcome. The pedigree classes will be judged by Terry Nethercott, Shirley Grantham who is the ex president of Boxer Rescue will judge the veterans condition category and Anna-Lisa Wall, head veterinary nurse at Coastway Shoreham will judge the other two categories; and of course everyone's favorite, the novelty classes which will be judged by Scott Burey, better know as Brighton's very own Drag With No Name. For a full list of the class categories please see the Pride website www.brightonpride.org
This year the event kicks off with a fabulous Dog Fashion Show at 12.00; Organised by exclusive pet store Mio Minn this spectacular will need to be seen to be believed! The fashion show will be followed up by an agility display put on by The Sussex Canine Centre, to show all those pampered pooches of yours how it's really done!
Rings one two and three will hold the various classes from 1.00pm onwards with prizes sponsored and donated by shops, businesses and Pride supporters from across the county. The Dragons Den favourite, and locally based Youdoodoll Ltd will be giving their new Youdoodog its first public outing by donating a bespoke prize for every category in the novelty classes.
The team from Coastway will be overseeing all entries, including judging, and are all set to play a large part in the day. The Coastway Veterinary Group have been sponsors of the show five times before and are pleased to show their support again. Partner Tony Cowie says, "It's a fantastic day out for everyone, whether you're interested in showing your dog seriously, putting it into the novelty classes, or coming as a spectator. The sun should be shining, so bring a picnic and come for the day."
Hove Rugby Football Club is kindly donating their facilities free of charge. There will be a bar, refreshments and trade stands to keep all owners, friends and families entertained. Space can be booked through the Pride Office and starts from just £70. Entry to the dog show is free although donations will be greatly received. All proceeds go to Pride in Brighton and Hove.
