"Come and join the Chorus! We're a great bunch of guys who love to sing their hearts out every Monday night and have fun doing it. We perform in full on concerts, for gay weddings, in pubs - in fact, anywhere they'll let us! We have some amazingly talented professionals working with us but you don't have to be Pavarotti to join in - just enthusiastic and willing to share your voice with the world.
Recent escapades include: the In The Mood show (reviewed here and in the Guardian); being recorded for Radio 4; our first civil partnership earlier in 06; our first birthday party in October 06 - now that was someting to sing home about!"

Dynamite Boogaloo
Attracting the freaks and eccentrics of Brighton, Dynamite Boogaloo was a firm favourite for many partyboys and girls for many years. The youngish, mixed, sweaty crowd that turned up for the weekly club-cum-cabaret experience was as madly varied as the eclectic music and outlandish cabaret that inevitably took place.
Dynamite Boogaloo takes its name from the lines of the song 'Dance Yourself Dizzy' by Liquid Gold... subsequently the founders and DJs of the night were christened Dynamite Sal and Boogaloo Stu by Carlos Laterna Magika (without whose enthusiasm, Sal and Stu tell us, they may not have stuck it out).
Started as an alternative to all the house music nights in Brighton they set down their front-room music policy... you know... when you go back to someone's house and you put all your favourite records on. Not cheesy, cos "cheesy pop's rubbish" says Sal. She promises that they never played Boyzone or Westlife. Sure they've played some terrible records, but there's rubbish and there's rubbish. The huuugely popular night moved from The Escape, down to The Joint where it stayed for nine or ten years and then after a brief stint at Above Audio, to Audio's larger basement and on to the now occasional appearances at Komedia.
From the many photostories attached to this page you'll see just how outrageous a night with Boogaloo Stu can get. Frequent nudity, foul language and chocolate sauce. Penny-up-the-crack and sh*t-lips being favourites, the cabaret is... utterly unique. When Stu takes to the stage everyone's attention is instantly on the man with the unfeasibly big hair and nobody's safe. Whatever you do never ever tell your friends it's your birthday or you'll end up in your pants faking an orgasm into the microphone in front of a packed crowd screaming at you for more... Not that I'm scarred by my experience or anything.
Joining Stu on stage is a selection of almost equally outrageous guests, the mainstay for the last ten years being the large... personality... of Dolly Rocket (it is with fondness that I recall her producing a pork pie from between her breasts for one lucky prizewinner) and Brighton's own infamous Le Gateau Chocolat (you'll recognise him from the amazing T-Mobile flasmob ads shot at the airport!).
