The Star Inn... a warm welcome by the sea
There's something more than a little comforting about the Star Inn, a star in Brighton's gay quarter. Maybe it's the ample seating, the warm and cosy interior, or just the friendly busty maiden and staff.
A traditional boozer, The Star has everything anybody should want, telly, board games, quiz and karaoke. There's also delicious home cooked pub grub from Paula's kitchen, real ale on tap, plenty of interesting shots and great deals on premium spirits as well. A warm welcome by the sea is their tagline - and its easy to see why.
Whilst by day it’s a great place to grab a beer, by night it’s a local experience.. A place to meet up with old friends and make a few new ones... The Rover’s Return of Brighton’s gay scene! The ethos is that The Star is for the whole LGBT community truly as 'Marilyns' (the landlady's previous triumph) was (for those who remember) - attitude free and open to all.
A few little quirks makes it all the more endearing, such as the toilets being guarded by a combination lock... resulting in a surreptitious round of whispering when the time approaches to visit the little boys or girls room and can result in some Carol Vorderman-esque numeracy skills after a few pints!
So, if it's a relaxing drink amongst friendly people you're after, in a pub with a bit of personality - The Star's a very safe bet! Very lively at the weekends!
