Brighton Festival Fringe 2008
Tuesday, 15 April 2008
Question. What saw 3 weeks, 240 venues, 570 events, 3199 show times and 191, 940 estimated minutes of fun in 2007? The Brighton Festival Fringe that’s what - and 2008 looks like adding more numbers to the entertainment equation!
Running alongside the Brighton Festival this most fabulous of Fringes is fast becoming the Roger Daltery haircut of the visual arts and performance world. 40,000 visitors to the festival can’t be wrong.
Pick up a program or browse REALBrighton's full festival listings (alhough not too slowly – these events sell out quick) and you’ll be amazed at the variety available. It’s a Heinz 57 plus festival with artists from across the globe visiting the city.
The Ladyboys of Bangkok are back once again at Victoria Gardens whilst the Udderbelly returns all purple like to the Old Steine with a line-up that will make you weep. Highlights include Hercules and Love Affair & Horsemeat Disco DJs, Tom Tom Club and Silent Disco. Add Fringe Street - a rather tasty collection of events and happenings in Jubliee Street, New Street and Jubiliee square and it really doesn’t get more Brighton than the Brighton Festival Fringe!
With something undoubtedly happening in a venue near you
You can be fairly sure that there's something happening in a venue near you - particularly with artists Open Houses, Barfly, The Candy Bar, The Sanctuary, C2, Devil's Dyke, the Duke of York's, Digital, Embassy Court, Heist, Komedia, The Old Market... just some of many hundreds of addresses requiring your attention this May!
As official Media Partners again this year, REALBrighton not only provides you with a one-stop list of events, times and venues - but also provides both the printed and online mapping services to the Fringe!
There really is no excuse to miss this most unique of events as we supply you with all the listings, info, photos and reviews you could ever need. Brighton Festival Fringe 2008. A festival right at the heart of Brighton and Hove’s artistic centre.
