Pride in Brighton & Hove held their 2008 AGM on 27th March at the Queens Hotel, with trustees, staff and members in attendance. Pride chair Josh Mills welcomes those attended and highlighted the charities success over the last year. A particular mention was made of Peter Kyle, Tom Hough and Keith Kemp for all their hard work and commitment to Pride.
Yvonne Barker (treasurer) gave the details of the charities financial activity over the last year; She reported that the organisation is moving in the right direction, following it’s strategic review, but commented that ‘As Pride moves forward and faces fresh challenges additional resources will still be required to meet our communities expectations.’
The second half of the meeting dealt with the election of the new voluntary trustees, who had been selected from an open recruitment process over the last three months. All six of the potential applicants were voted in successfully; Jo Wren, Phillip Price, Russell Allen, Rebecca Beels, Shonali Rodrigues and Susan Luxford. This leaves only one space on the Pride board of trustees, which is being purposely held open for a candidate with specific legal knowledge and experience.
