business newsBananas found!Sunday, 10 August 2008 After sightings all over town the escaped Wild Fruit bananas were last spotted on their way back to Tru to be reunited with their friends! Once more the REALBrighton paparazzi were on hand - this time a camera phone captured the two bananas and their keepers trailing down St James' Street towards town. When questioned, the two lads carrying the fruit promised that they were on their way to return them to their rightful home. We await news from the Wild Fruit team that the bananas are back! |

Thank you to everyone who has shown such concern over the theft and abduction of Cuddles and Lu Lu the Wild Fruit bananas. We have been quite overwhelmed by the response and vigilance of people who have sent us pictures of rare sightings of the two.
We are thrilled to announce that both Cuddles and Lu Lu are safe at home now with Trevor and Myra (their fruity comrades) and although having suffered the odd bash and bruise both are doing fine.
It appears that the two thieves originally snapped rushing along Brighton seafront with a startled Cuddles and Lu Lu at 7am Monday morning after the Pride Wild Fruit party were in fact glass collecting staff from Tru.
Thanks to the many sightings, photographs and CCTV footage the two members of staff were identified, asked to return the much-missed bananas (as snapped by realbrighton) and promptly relieved of their jobs.
Cuddles and Lu Lu will make their return appearance at Wild Fruit’s ‘Lets Get Physical’ Bank Holiday party at Tru on Sunday 24th August
