community newsIn the pinkThursday, 28 August 2008 The organisers are hoping for sunshine this weekend and fingers crossed they’ll get it because Cambridge is about to host Pink Festival 2008, a very British, very flamboyant and, yes, a very pink gay festival. With six stages stuffed with music, theatre and performance, a rather tasty Horsemeat Disco session, a market place and food court awaiting revellers, you’d be a fool not to join the 15,000 plus expected at Cherry Hinton Hall in Cambridge on Saturday 30th August. Headliners confirmed so far include QBoy, Futureproof, Sonique, Soul Of Prophecy, Dan McKee, Geek Girl and Mz Fontaine. And if that doesn’t help you plan your travels this weekend then the Dot Cotton Club meets Wild Fruit Official Afterparty at The Junction Club should convince you. The Pink Festival – just the excuse you need to take a late August punt on the sun shining with Pride.
