Farewell to Lyn at R-Bar

Monday, 29 January 2007

We're very sad to report that Lyn Cooper, a manager at Brighton's R-Bar, has passed away suddenly, following illness.

Lyn's funeral will be on Tuesday 6th February 2007 at Woodvale Crematorium, South Chapel with the service commencing at 2.30pm.

Afterwards, a celebration of Lyn's life will be held at R-Bar from 3.30pm.

A theme of black and pink is requested.

Lyn leaves two young daughters, who have requested there be no flowers, but any donations to the cost of Lyn's funeral would be gratefully received by them at this time. To contribute, please contact Andrew Roberts or Kevin Smith at R-Bar.

Lyn will be greatly missed. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and was remarkably sweet and helpful when Huw and I organised our hen night and Civil Partnership drinks at R-Bar in the summer. Nothing was too much trouble and she demonstrated a rare blend of professionalism, generosity and genuine caring.

My sympathies and thoughts go to her two daughters, family, friends and work colleagues.

It's hard to find words to describe how people feel at times like this. Lyn you made me laugh, and I shall never forget the chats at the end of the bar. All My Love Always Darlin, Sleep Soundly.

I went to school with Lyn's daughter Johanna from the age of four and remember Lyn from way back then! Wot a surprise when I bumped into her at Revenge one night about four years ago and she remembered me! A lovely lady who knew a good time and had it, and Johanna, if you read this, deepest sympathies to you and your sister,

Lyn was so nice to me when I moved to Brighton. She always made me welcome in R-bar - we got on really well.

I'm so upset that she won't be with us anymore! My thoughts are with her loved ones and her family.

Love to her and her famaily Barbara Fella aka Ashley x x x x x x x

Lyn... You are a free person and in your freedom you made me your friend... It's all been said before about Lyn and her kindness and just being Lyn.
I know that many will miss her for a long time to come. Lyn had a certain way of making everyone feel welcome. I'm sure that Lyn's family will take comfort in how much she was loved and will truly be missed. Love Mike xx
