Aaaah, the joys of West Street. If you ever fancy a bit of homophobic abuse then try queueing in your campest gear outside Creation and waiting for the drive-by morons to scream obscenities at you!
The silver lining to that particular cloud is that the club is completely free of people like that and completely stuffed with scantily-clad dancers, loud costumes, top dance music and a really friendly atmosphere... it's one of Brighton's best monthly events. It's fruity. It's wild.
Yes, it's Wild Fruit. And it's the 8th birthday today. Free CD on the way out to all those who attended (that's about 2 bottles of Smirnoff Ice's worth of free CD at the rather overpriced bar!).
**Aaah! It's been pointed out to us that the Smirnoff Ice posters are there at the request of the Wild Fruit team... So that its patrons don't unwittingly order the overpriced sweetstuff. Wild Fruit makes NOT A BEAN from the bars! Apparently there's a bit of a battle going on about it, with the result that there are always at least a couple of decent drink offers on (the cheap bottles for example). So, rather than slagging you off, you lovely people, we should be praising you for NOT making money from the bars, and for raising over £40,000 for good causes! Hoorah!
Big cheers for the CDs as well - everyone agrees that they're cracking.
