Saint Etienne make perfectly crafted pop and have been around for a good 10 years or so. This is reflected in the audience here tonight to see them - almost completely comprising of hip, well-dressed 30-somethings.

Sarah Cracknell, the lead singer, looked lovely as ever and enjoyed comments from her ardent admirers when saying where next on tour... “We're coming to see you Sarah!" The rest of Saint Etienne shied from the limelight and concentrated on the task in hand performing some delightful catchy tunes from urbania.

Saint Etienne are on tour to promote their latest album Tales from Turnpike House. Hence the majority of the set is taken up with the new tracks. These tracks were very well received and blended in well with the old familiar tracks.

about Concorde 2

Okay, so you may have to walk a bit to reach it... but that just makes it that little bit more exclusive doesn't it! Located along Madeira Drive, the Concorde 2 is a sizeable venue with a huge variety of clubnights and bands on each month. Some top names, some great festivals, World Music... you name it. If you can't find something to pique your interest then you might as well pack your bags and head for Eastbourne...
