Soho Pride 2005...
review
What a thoroughly lovely day!
With the streets cordoned off, stages erected and stalls set up all that remained was for some people to descend upon it all and enjoy! By the time we arrived at around 2 o'clock everything was already in full swing... Soho was teeming with gorgeoussness.
I think it would be fair to say that the event is going from strength to strength. Meticulously organised so that everyone has a good time without having to worry about the details - we all got down to the serious business of having a few drinks and catching up with friends. The streets were busy, but not so busy that you couldn't comfortably get from area to area... We had a fabulous time.
There'll be more photos added over the next week or so as our contributors get over their respective hangovers... watch this space!

Area 1 - The Gaydar Radio Stage
photos by Sam Milford
First stop, then, the Gaydar Radio stage in the corner of Soho Square, where we witnessed a lively game of footy. Chris Geary and friends (the Gaydar dreamteam) were pitted perhaps unfairly against a slightly less buff man in blue speedos (the Gaydar realityteam).

Area 2 - The Candy Bar Stage

Over to the hugely popular Candy Bar street party. A big stage, pumping sound and a street rammed with gorgeous girls... it was absolutely rocking. The Candy Bar girls aaalways know how to party! They managed eight hours of hot entertainment with fabulously sexy dancing beauties and DJs Slamma, Philly & Minx (with Brandy & Crystal on the mic), and Joy on percussion.

Area 3 - The Rupert Street Stage
photos by Sam Milford
The Yard, The Escape, Salvation, Barcode and Rupert Street area was positively heaving as well... again, not an uncomfortable crush of a crowd - a very good natured, not-too-too-packed one! Lots of familiar faces and we even grabbed a few snaps of some celebs too... Well, at least one anyway... Okay, okay, so Bill bet me a quid that I wouldn't snap him so I had to.

Night draws in...
photos by , Jon Nix & Sam Milford
Everyone that we chatted to said they had a great afternoon - and we all agreed. Soho Pride gets a big thumbs up from the REALSoho team for a fabulous free party. Hope everyone dug deep and dropped a few quid into the buckets to help make sure it stays that way. Now then... a few last minute drinks before we head for home, anyone?

So Ho Ho Ho Pride
photos by Bex Wade
What to do on a July afternoon? Go gay on the streets of Soho! There were no lesbians with pets or holidaying gays setting up their
picnics... not that there's anything wrong with that of course!
