Packed Party in the Streets!...
review
Impressive. Very, very impressive.
Initial estimates are that around 6,000 people poured through the St James Street parties over the weekend. Without a doubt one of the biggest street parties that Brighton has ever seen.
With great cabaret all over the place, live music, DJs and thousands of happy people, the atmosphere was truly electric.
There was a bigger police presence this year, following the popularity of the event last year, but the police were well received by the public, and were very good spirited in their approach to the parties.
Sgt Mark Andrews, our local LGBT Community Police Officer, was very vocal in his support of the event that ran so smoothly. The whole event was undoubtedly a huge success. Congratulations to all those involved in getting the event off the ground. Something tells me that this may not be the last party of this kind...

about Marine Tavern

The Marine Tavern is a small and cosy traditional pub (remember those?), where the bar staff are friendly and so are the customers. Predominantly gay men prop up the bar while camp music plays without intruding into conversation. With a pub quiz every week and various fundraising activities on the odd occasion, this establishment is how a gay pub should be - free from attitude and part of the comm...
