Luscious Lesbians, and other treats....
review My mission... Snap as many gorgeous girls as possible and document a lesbian's pride from every angle!Of course I chose to accept, and as you can see if you add together all of my reports I think I managed it... albeit with a few blisters, sore legs and an even sorer head! So, just what is there for a lesbian to do over Pride? Pretty much anything and everything it seems. My first night on the Sapphic adventure took in the delights of lesbian acousticness and the dulcet tones of Heather Peace and Nat Ripepi at the Joogleberry Playhouse. Fantastic performances. Ani, Alex and obviously Melissa should be worried. Then from one exhibition of homo talent to another in the form of 'The Weakest Link' Grand Final at Revenge. Not many girls - I feared my mission may fail on the first night. Nevertheless my spirits were lifted by the heroic (note clever link to Pride theme here!) performance of The Candy Bar's very own Kim Lucas. Deciding to stick with what I knew I headed to my usual thursday haunts; The Candy Bar, Mad Cow and Dynamite Boogaloo... I found girls! Girls I knew, girls I wanted to know and anyone else who took my fancy! With Stage One of my mission almost complete I tentatively undertook my most unusual assignment to date - A trip to a Lesbian Sauna. The boys were kicked out of the sauna at The Amsterdam and replaced by tit-tassels, face packs, nail varnish, porn and of course hot, naked ladies. Accompanied by my photographic ally red_junior (also snapping for a well known lesbian magazine that night) - I think we best just say "what goes on in the sauna stays in the sauna". Stage One complete I leave with my take-away face pack but minus my shorts - if anyone has seen them please return to the REALBrighton office, thanks! From one extreme to the other! Stage Two began with a brief visit to the Lesbian White Ball at the Thistle Hotel. An elegant affair, food, wine and all in white-all except me... I was on duty after all! Jill Jackson (ex speedway/Alex Parks' gf) performed a surprisingly excellent acoustic set and was also I must say very lovely to meet. A quick dash into Dr Brighton's on the way and a brave delve into the depths of the heaving Marlborough added a few more to the quota. I finally ended my evening in the overwhelmingly sapphic surrounds of F*ck The Pain Away at The Candy Bar. My task was easy - it was packed with girls all excited by the prospect of Pride. Stage Two achieved! On to Pride at Preston Park-an easy task? Harder than I thought actually as obviously gorgeous lesbians weren't the only dwellers at the park. Lapping the park 20 times, scanning with every step left me quite jaded by the end. Jaded, knackered but blessed! Despite my weariness my quest continued on through the crammed streets of intoxicated queers. First stop the Marlborough. Never again will I encounter such an abundance of dykes 100 yards from my house! Next stop the delectable delights of Koochy@Tsarbar. A gathering of gorgeousness and music to match - it was a pleasurable pit-stop. A quick 'in/out' at Envy, long enough to snap a few and a brief catch up with outstanding friends... Final stop The Candy Bar, predictably. Busy, buzzing and bustling with beauties. Stage Three accomplished! With the finishing line in sight and my work nearly done I started Stage Four with a quick family lunch in London (needed to refuel). Due to an unprecedented influx of surveillance I decided to wind down with an evening in the madness of Queer Bash. Spending the night with an unpatriotic Welshman, a 'pedestrian crossing' and various other special playmates seemed an unlikely conclusion to this mission... or so I thought... Nope. On my way home I stumbled across the perfect Pride ending and the exhausted reality of my mission-the staff at The Candy Bar. Shots were in order, and as you can witness they worryingly resulted in an interesting exhibition of 'German Porn Faces' (or in my case more 'Hungarian Porn' as you can see from my first effort!). 7am. It's took 5 days, hundreds of photos, 10 battery charges, 2 blisters, 1 very sore finger... but many, many memories. Proudly I think I can pretty much say I fulfilled my brief. From the look of things there's something or someone to do at Pride for all of those with a lady-loving nature. P.S. Thanks to the hospitality of all and to the majority of girls who didn't actually think I was stalking them!
