Billed as the lesbian event of the weekend, girls from across the country were hoping that Climax would be the pinnacle of the pride festivities. They were not disappointed. Climax left us all satisfied.

Upstairs a live string quartet
played Mozart, Madonna and Minogue!

The music was fantastic. DJ PJ and then later Sarah Furey on the decks not only reading the crowd, but apparently somehow reading my mind as they played almost every track I have ever loved. I would happily have stayed in my spot on the dance floor for the entire evening, but someone reminded me that I had a camera around my neck - so i tore myself away to explore the rest of the club. Upstairs there was a more chilled area with plenty of lovely looking ladies and to my surprise a live string quartet playing some classics, including not just Mozart but Madonna and Minogue! There was also an outside area, with a barbeque for the more peckish among us. No time for me to snack though. I mopped my brow, filled my glass and set off back to the main bar.

The party was in full swing, the dance floor packed and everyone was loving it. The best clubbing atmosphere I've experienced in a long time. This was due, in no small part, to the Vanilla team - whose smiles were contagious. The DJ, the dancers, the horn-blower and especially Steph and Mel were all having such a genuinely great night, it was impossible for the rest of us not to.

I don't even need to mention the abundance of fit girls - the pictures should say it all!

If Pride is the Christmas of the gay calendar, then even Scrooge himself would have had come away from climax with a smile on his face!
