It's another Thursday, and another chance for REALBrighton to visit Mad Cow at Charles Street.

Queen Josephine is spinning her tunes on the decks, the cheap drinks are flowing and all of us punters are getting extremely merry! If you've not heard Queen Jo play before, you don't know what you're missing. She's part of the new up-and-coming talent that the Brighton music machine has thrown at us, and she is definitely one you're going to wanna catch! She'll be heading up a new Saturday nighter at Envy in the next month or two, so watch out for her!

After Charles Street closes its doors we head upstairs to hear resident DJ Richard Jones tuning us up for the weekend at Music Asylum!

It's a fun atmosphere, and always a good start for your weekend. The drinks are still cheap, and the night attracts a complete range of people - not just students.

The pre-club bar of choice for Envy is, of course, Charles Street... since it's... er... in the same building! With criminally cheap drinks and with Queen Jo on the decks it's a no-brainer!

...and when the last orders bell rings downstairs and the lights come up it's our cue to queue for Envy so that we can carry on partying!

about Kate Wildblood

Kate Wildblood. DJ, writer and, as a sometimes outspoken journalist, a force to be reckoned with. If you’ve been out and about in Brighton then you’ll have found it hard to ignore her presence behind the decks at Wild Fruit, Sunday Sundae, Envy, the Honeyclub, Wet Pussy, the Candy Bar (pauses for breath) Shameless Hussies, Pride, Fruit Underground, Shine...
