The burning of the clocks? You aint seen nothing yet. The crowds gather with a certain familiarity on the beaches once again (alright mate? yeah keeping well thanks mate. You coming to the flooding-of-the-Pavilion next month? Yeah mate, see you there).
Fire crews from both East and West sussex fought hard to make sure that there was something left of the Brighton Pier for the crowds to hurl themselves off in the summer.

The curtains close on the the West Pier's final performance. With a last pyrotechnic sigh, smouldering wet ash filled the air and what little was left of the pier fell into the swirling sea. That's all, folks.
