review

A spectacular night of vocal acrobatics, fundraising and campery to officially launch the new Pride Single by Jamie Watson and Krissie Du Cann, with support from cabaret favourites.

The dressing room was overflowing with some of the hottest circuit acts in town from Dame Margot Hamilton to Kitty Litter, Dave Lynn to Pearl White, and not forgetting of course the Bionic Mazie Trollette.

This explosive combination of wigtastic talent caused some of the more comical comments of the evening, my favourites being:

Kitty on Pearl:"Pearls got women's problems? She doesn't look like one!"

Dave Lynn on Bobble Hats: "Don't trust a man in a hat? I'm Jewish, I know all about that!"

Ten dance numbers, a huge thank you and congratulations from David Harvey the Chair of Pride, three Martinis, half a buffet, and a lot of snapping by the REALBrighton crew and it was over. A truly brilliant launch party, and a clear example of the effort some very special people make each and every year to keep our Pride free for folks like you and me.

So even if you're not into your dance ballads, we say go buy that single this instant! You'll be playing a small part in keeping our biggest event of the year fun, free, and full of frolics.
