Having a Ball...
review
A fabulous re-creation of a true piece of Brighton's LGBT Heritage, the Brighton & Hove City Council's LGBT Workers' Forum brought the 1940's to the Hanbury Ballroom.
Originally located at the Aquarium Ballroom (now the SeaLife Centre), the Sussex Arts Ball was the highlight of the lesbian and gay calendar in the 1940s, albeit in an underground way.
The LGBT Workers' Forum of the council recreated it with full 1940s theming at Kemp Town's Hanbury Ballroom - and much effort went into decor and costumes to make it truly unique.
Live Jazz and dance tuition kept everyone on their toes and this event was part of February's LGBT History month.
A big pat on the back to everyone involved - this was a fantastic event!
