The Honeyclub is back... bigger, better, more glamorous and more pumping than ever before! You may have seen it in the last couple of months in various stages of reconstruction but on Saturday night, after a lot of hard work, they threw open the doors, rolled out the red carpet and celebrated the relaunch with a glittering V.I.P. reception which attracted top class celebs (Dot Cotton, the Cheeky Girls, Big Mo, Richard Hillman... err... I think Chantell was around too).

Entering the now renamed Honey Bar (though to us regulars it'll probably always be the Tzar Bar) nothing seemed obviously different, until I noticed the two new doorways to the right... Walking through them it took me a moment to work out where I was (to be honest it could've been all the free champagne I had drunk).

The club has been completely transformed and looks amazing. It now has five rooms and seven bars, the DJ box has been re-positioned so it is in the centre of the dancefloor and there is a new room at the back of the main floor with it's own bar. There are now two curved stairways leading to a walkway with a lit floor overlooking the club. Also up here is a V.I.P. room which feels very luxurious with it's own bar and cocktail menu and comfortable private booths. The floor's been completely re-tiled, there are new multi-coloured laser lights, new pretty much everything and the Honey now easily rivals Creation as Brighton's biggest and most glamorous club!

By 10.30pm the queue outside looked like it stretched all the way to Hove Lawns and the eager crowd finally started piling in. House legend Norman Jay, Dusted resident Oliver Lang and of course the peerless Seven Sins residents Ben Prok, Cheeky and Adam H kept the packed club jumpin' till 6am with driving house and fierce tech-trance, while Howie and the Honey residents served up some delicious funky house in the Honey Bar. With forthcoming guest DJs such as the Sharp Boys and Roger Sanchez, and with Hed Kandi and Hard South around the corner you'd need a pretty good excuse not to check it out!

Not to be outdone, REALBrighton had not one, but TWO photographers mingling with the stars to make sure we captured as much of the atmosphere as was allowed after all that Champagne and vodka... Here is Timbo's collection of treats.
