Wild Fruit's Studio 69...
review
"How many elephants can you get in a Mini Cooper?" that's the question I asked the bartender when I arrived to Wild Fruit's little brother at Bamboogy... I've never seen so many people in such a small place but, wow, what a party!
The theme tonight was Studio 69 from the famous Studio 69 in Riga, Latvia boasting, "an ideal place for recreation, where you can dance, watch a topless show, have a fun with your friends, where you can enjoy great food or try cocktails from the best bartenders in Riga everyday". A perfectly Fruity theme, then!
Bamboogy may not have had food but there were live performances from the likes of Brighton's own Grace Jones, and lively tunes from DJs Pete Haywood and Dulcie Danger.
Fruit at Bamboogy is a more intimate affair than at Creation. And Studio 69 represented a synthesis of classic disco-club, topless-bar and cabaret. taking the concept of New York's Studio 54 and adding some local colour to make it unique. With a 60s, 70s, 80s feel to it, everything is lively and bouncy!
In a small space you don't really expect to see podiums and stages - but the dancefloor was full of people dancing, kissing and sweating! Just how we like it! A smaller party - but a big soul!
