review

Still going strong, the Queen's Arms deliver consistent fun every night of the week! And for their 14th birthday, I was expecting something special. And I got it!

The pub was packed with old and new faces all be treated to cheap drinks and one of the venue's favourite acts, Trashville Tennessee. Their first set got the place into a flurry of laughter and excitement, as you would expect! And then Andy B and Beryl broke a new act to Brighton - Rachael Harvey-Jones.

Looking like the true showgirl that she portrays, Rachael opened the show with a classical music number followed by Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand.

I haven't been so blown away about an act in ages and I wasn't the only one. Rachael's vocal range and power and, of course, true star talent made this party one to remember! Please - if you love musicals and show tunes, and a powerful presence on stage with some witty humour thrown in - check out her show!

Rachael is back at the Queens Arms in June (keep an eye on REALBrighton's listings and the Queens Arms website for future dates) - I promise you won't be disappointed.

All in all, everyone had a great time, and Trashville's last set finished off the evening in style!

Happy Birthday QA - see you at next year's bash!

about Queen's Arms

The matriarch of Brighton's mixed pubs, the Queens Arms delves into her handbag every night of the week to serve up big, camp portions of live entertainment, special events and karaoke. By day, a more contemporary feel to the venue has led to a laid-back atmosphere by day where you can grab a drink and watch the big screens or browse the free newspapers on offer.

The next Queen's Arms date for your diary:
