Gay Pop Idol Finals...
review
The climax to a fabulous five weeks of gay Pop Idol antics upstairs at the Bulldog...
After 78 auditions, just ten were chosen to compete in the final. And by the crowds packing the upstairs bar, they had each brought plenty of support with them, with banners being waved and mobile phones at the ready to text in their votes.
Three judges: James from GScene Magazine, Keith from Brighton Pride and yours truly from REALBrighton.com. Our job to give each contestant a score between 1 and 5. Not an easy task at all.
In the end, it came down to both judges scores and text votes to whittle it down to the final three finalists, who sang once more. A final text vote count and the results were in. In third place was Nikki, second place went to Adam, but the GayPop Idol Winner 2006 was David Moffat. £250 prize money with other goodies and an enormous bouquet of flowers by Greenwoods went to him, with a few bookings as well!
