Pride in Brighton & Hove 2006 launched on Sunday with introductions to the new board of trustees and those all important grant cheques being presented to those successful organisations that applied this year.

It was also an opportunity for Brighton Police to pledge their support in keeping the summer festival safe and enjoyable for all and for us to meet the new Mayor of Brighton.

Ex-Pride Chair, David Harvey, was thanked for his work and commitment over the past three years and presented with an aerial shot of Preston Park taken from the REALBrighton plane at last years event.

Don't forget to support local fundraising effforts. The event is put on thanks to volunteers and local organisations getting together to raise money, from business sponsorship and from the hard work of a large number of people. Please also make sure you put some money in the buckets along the parade and at Preston Park to help support local community groups and charities.

Here's to a fabulous Pride this year!
