Bank Holiday Monday finds us hop-scotching our way excitedly across the vomit-splattered paving stones to Shibby Shabblers' 1st Birthday bash. And what a giddy night - the usual dandy, accessible indie pop anthems from the Shabblers crew, aided and abetted by Popstarz gent Tommy Turntables, Annik's alter ego, Cassie O and fabulous electro-trash boys, Yr Mum Ya Dad. Hurrah!

Famed for drawing a rare old mix of punters, Shibbly Shabblers' one year celebration reveals it fast becoming a bit of an institution. "There are loads of regulars," blushes DJ Pookie, mopping the sweaty brow beneath his visor, "I just didn't expect them all to come at once!". Quite.

The capacity crowd has the Candy pint-pullers working like your father down the bushes last week (allegedly) and the Shabblers folks gave thanks with generous party bags - as well as a haversack of squelchy homo porn, I'm told.
