Time is the winning new night at the Honey with a simple formula: get the biggest and best house DJs on the planet and watch the punters flood in. And house DJs don’t get any bigger or better than Eric Morillo.
From the moment he stepped up to the mic to announce himself to the hot, screaming, sweaty crowd he rocked it. If you love house, you have to hear a Morillo set. No-one plays house music quite like him... the biggest tunes and the most uplifting and euphoric piano-led breakdowns building over a sublime four hour set from a funky vocal start to a peak that bordered on hard house back down to some crowd pleasing favourites. His technical skill is second to none, using loops and acapellas to maximum effect.
With the positioning of the DJ box now, the DJ can really interact with the crowd and you can tell he loved every minute - creating an awesome atmosphere. Although the heat became a bit unbearable at times, there are still plenty of places to go to escape it with the main room music being piped into the Honey Bar and the lovely and cool outdoor marquee.
With funky house legend Sandy Rivera up next month you’d be mad to miss it! Keep an eye on REALBrighton's listings for the latest info.
