Revenge's cabaret tent certainly stood out this year, drawing us in to its huge variety of performances that were guaranteed to make us laugh, sing along and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.
The fabulous Lola Lasagne once again organised and hosted this main entertainment attraction and presented us with fantastic stage performances from the infamous Lollipop Girls, Dave Lynn, Maisie Trollette, the Drag With No Name, Betty Swollocks, Trashville Tennessee, Lizzie Drip and the D.E. Experience to name but a few.
All of the acts, stage crew, photographers, translators and of course the audience each succeeded in making it an enjoyable event. Now we'll just have to wait until next year to see it all again...
In keeping with tradition, we asked Lola to write a few words about her day:
I said, on stage, on Saturday, that I hadn't been exactly keen to organise the Cabaret Tent again, this year. It's hard work, and the abuse I get from certain quarters of Brighton can make it a bit thankless. But looking at these FABULOUS photos and remembering what a fantastic day it was makes it all worthwhile!
I must thank 'Team Lola' (well, everyone else seems to have a team, why not me!), Helen Medland, Rupert Ellick and Adrian Tillman for their collective fabulousness in keeping things together. And then there are the artistes, who are all superb in their own rights, that's why they're on the bill, but seem to pull out all the stops and go that extra mile for Brighton Pride.
And finally, the crowd - yes you lot - who stood there all day and stamped, cheered, screamed, and gave the Cabaret Tent that amazing buzz from 2pm until the bitter end!
Hugz and snogz to you all, and I'll see you next year!
