Bangin' Birthday...
review
To celebrate 14 years of superb clubbing, the Wild Fruit team pulled out all the stops for their birthday bash and, as usual, provided a party to remember.
Taking the late great Divine as inspiration for the night, this trash fest offered the crowd the chance to revere all things vulgar and tasteless - several having really gone to town on their outfits!
Fat Boy superstar Norman Cook joined the Fruity resident DJs, spinning in a few different tunes to those we've come to expect from these monthly treats and adding a subtle twist to the flavour of the night. Pete Haywood finished up the night on the main floor, pushing the party to the heights only he can reach!
Other delights included the ghastly glamour of a Divine-inspired drag catwalk show and a live PA from vocal diva Takaboom who performed Make a Move on Me and a couple of other numbers brilliantly, despite perhaps not being certain what city she was in...
Happy Birthday. Long live the Fruit!

The monthly Wild Fruit is undoubtedly one of Brighton's clubbing institutions. Always glamorous, always packed and always great music from resident DJs Pete Haywood, Neil Duffie and friends. The night is often punctuated with stage acts, muscly dancers, regular live big name PAs and guest DJs such as local superstar DJ Norman Cook... it's NEVER a dull party!
