Studio 40 : Rob's 40th!...
review
Well, Rob’s 40th birthday celebration certainly was D.I.S.C.O... D, dancefloor divas; I, incredible entertainment; S, stage surprises; C, cold champagne; and O, oh, oh, the outfits! Interpreting the great clubs of the 80s like Studio 54 in New York and Taboo in London, a dressed-up crowd turned out to help blow out Rob’s candles at the Old Market in Hove.
Studio 40 collected together a mixed group of friendly freaks to help Rob (aka spiketm) ease himself out of his 30s. Fuelled by flowing Champagne, a slide show of 80s icons, music from perhaps the best era for both tunes and lyrics, and a visual feast of fabulous outfits, it wasn’t only Rob that was celebrating their youth that night.
After the speeches, it was time for the surprise entertainment. With costume changes to match the best of the era’s classics, and a singing voice to go with them, Rob took to the stage in his inimitable style.
The legendary 80s were back at Studio 40, and it really was a night to remember.
loved it!
It was my best friend's 40th, and all his mates made such an effort - O, and I looked quite butch in military, (for a change!) Everyone made such an effort, and also well done to DJ Richard - what a set.
I can't beleive there's a pic of me drinking water - O the shame - promise I won't let it happen again!
Cheers for a great write up, guys- glad you enjoyed it as much as we all did! Tonyjoe, 16 Oct 2006 [+]
