Pride Pub Quiz Finals...
review In one venue, the Amsterdam, Bedford Tavern, Bulldog, Candy Bar, Legends, Marine Tavern and Marlborough flexed their brain cellsAnd each team meant business. Strict rules were handed out. People switched off mobiles and trembled as PJ took to the stage. Questions were fired out as round by round 70 answers were hastily scribbled on answer sheets. While the judges marked the papers (god it was like exam time), Lola took to the stage to entertain and if I hear the joke about London Road shops again I'll go and tidy her house. Then came the results. Organisers John and Kevin had obviously been busy on Excel, creating a Eurovision style results board. There were gasps, their were sighs, there was a strange shreik of laughter as personal credibility was left in tatters at the thought of the Bulldog boys winning. It was neck and neck with a number of teams (mine being one of them), but in the end the Marlborough team won out. Some say it was a fix to avoid a wave of unhappy lesbians trashing the joint. Some say it was as political and tactical as the Eurovision itself. I say it was jolly good fun. Well done to all who were involved in making this fun evening out go with a bang.
