Ugly Betty... Fashion Victim Ball...
review
Fruit was rammed! Not uncomfortably packed, but brimming with lovely boys and girls who had donned charity-shop cast-offs and stuck-on teeth to meet the Ugly Betty theme head on.
Making this bank holiday special Fruit even more memorable was a fabulous set from the Freemasons in the main room... they've undoubtedly still got it, and they still know how to prove it. Whilst the main dancefloor was, as expected, heaving and sweaty, all three rooms were open and a great party feeling filled the entire venue.
The ceilings were adorned with huge flowers, pyrotechnics exploded confetti at us, lasers, stiltwalkers, go go dancers and probably lots more treats that I can' remember added to the atmosphere.
My guess is that Wild Fruit fills Creation like no other night they host, which perhaps accounts for the slightly less than ample number of bar staff on hand. But to help make up for it - with the longer days come shorter coat check queues, and all this - after all - is a small price to pay for what is Brighton's national treasure of a monthly night.
(Creation have promised to do better on the bar service front next time... apparently lots of naughty staff pulled a sickie at the last minute!)
loved it!
Wild Fruit! OMG! I still get so excited when I'm there the same way I did when I was 18 and first started going... The Freemasons were awesome!!! And the dancefloor... if you could bottle that atmosphere and sell it, you'd be a trillionaire. djdanger, 16 Apr 2007 [+]

The monthly Wild Fruit is undoubtedly one of Brighton's clubbing institutions. Always glamorous, always packed and always great music from resident DJs Pete Haywood, Neil Duffie and friends. The night is often punctuated with stage acts, muscly dancers, regular live big name PAs and guest DJs such as local superstar DJ Norman Cook... it's NEVER a dull party!
