Scooch!...
review
UK Eurovision hopefuls, Scooch, paid Revenge a flying visit en-route to their forthcoming appearance at Helsinki. This really was something of a coup for Revenge - our national listings team can confirm that Club Revenge really were quick off the mark in booking the group before they were confirmed as the country's representatives, a gamble that certainly paid off! Those cheeky pop poppets, Caroline, David, Natalie and Russ wasted no time in showing off their well rehearsed dance moves to a pop career soundtrack that included their hip-wiggling classics, More Than I Needed to Know and When My Baby.
Arms in the air, and an alarming number of people knowing the dance moves by heart, the crowd were lapping it up. Of course, the showstopper had to be Flying the Flag For You - their entry into this year's camp continental competition. Ticking all the boxes of a true Eurovision entry - this amenable little tune was even being whistled in the gents after the show - surely a good sign that it might be enough to impress our Euro counterparts that we aren't a bad bunch, despite the politics.
Possibly slightly disappointing that Scooch didn't feel it necessary to get a bit of vocal practice in before the big night (perhaps they're saving their voices but it possibly won't help the rumours around the whole mime scandal) and the drinks trolleys were conspicuous by their absence - it was, however, the campest night out in a long time! So a mighty thank you to Revenge for unleashing the screaming queen in all of us!
The buckets were out for Pride in Brighton & Hove, and the Brighton branch of travel shop 'Flight Centre' were there (complete with their 'Captian'!) - one lucky punter walked away with the competition prize of a £400 travel voucher to spend at the shop!

And with both floors being so big you can stand and chat by the bar without having to scream at each other over the music.
