Polly Deluxe: It's all About Me...
review
As superstar Polly Deluxe's class 4B sewing teacher once said, "Polly is capable of amazing things... if she can get the hang of cross stitch."
After seeing Charles and Di last year, I really didn't know what to expect from the Dolly Deluxe boys. There had been much hype surrounding the rather surreal play with Rupert even being compared to a young David Walliams in the Brighton's Latest 7 review.
A troupe of performers graced the Candy Bar stage with characters including a nurse, an assassin, boys and girls wearing entire costumes made of tights, a eurovision mock up and of course, Polly Deluxe - A child star who grew in fame due to her desperation to be loved.
It was a most enjoyable hour with audience participation and laughs a plenty and I left feeling satisfied that Ru and Stephen have let us into their weird world of drag and make up and fully exceeded my expectations.
Good luck at the Edinborough Fringe boys!
