Late Of The Pier...
review
As the opening act for this evenings highly anticipated appearance from CSS, Late of The Pier had a particularly hard audience to entertain. With the Concorde already at capacity and a queue winding down Madeira Drive as far as the eye could see with CSS hungry festival goers thinking of ways to get in, the retro electro brought to us from the Late of The Pier boys shook the room immediately into a jerking frenzy.
Using what looked like old planks that are often to be found washed up on the beach, nothing less than interesting beats were smashed out.
Describing their sound as “music to have asthma to” and as “latin/glam rock and thrash” may be a tiny bit misleading, however with an impressive tour lined up for the Summer starring alongside such local heroes as Metronomy and sets already confirmed at not only Dot To Dot festival but also Leeds and Reading, the summer is looking bright for these Nottingham bred boys. Watch this space, and your ears!
