Every Wednesday at the Queen's Arms is a Party Night and tonight was no exception, though with an added bonus!

As usual DJ Andy B had secured the best in Cabaret entertainment for tonight's guest-spot, the ever popular and extremely talented Drag With No Name (DWNN). Of course we're all familiar with DWNN's impersonations and caricatures of stage and screen personalities but this performance contained another personality altogether totally unexpected!

While it had been rumoured for sometime that a particular Cabaret singer had harboured a secret desire to appear in drag... nobody expected it to actually happen! But, low and behold the audience at the QA were the first to witness the transformation of the "star of shimmy," Jamie Watson as Miss Diva Watson!

Anybody watching Diva would not have thought this was her first appearance! Whilst DWNN offered the odd tit bit of advice "You'll get used to tripping on stage in heels dear" Diva was otherwise the most polished new drag queen I'd certainly ever witnessed a debut by! Possessing an instant rapport with the audience and able to hold her own with DWNN, the artists appeared suitably paired and equal in their stage artistry.

A show in two halves, the first act saw Diva assisting DWNN in a hilarious and witty caricature of the popular duo Topping and Butch including their own hilarious version of "Never mind"! This was accompanied in true DWNN style by a video story played on the new TV screens in the QA, telling a faux love story starring Jamie (as himself) and DWNN, including a cameo role played by John Townsend (aka Betty Swollocks)! This had the audience in stitches and can be viewed here!

The second half of the show saw the new duo vocally duetting or at least trying to when Diva could control her hysterics (she saw herself in the mirror-wall)! A rendition of "Anything you can do I can do better" included a vocal comeptition to see who could sing higher followed by who could eat a packet of crisps the fastest (Diva won)! Some camp comaraderie on stage and another special guest - Davina Sparkle - though not in drag. This was to introduce a tongue in cheek tribute to Davina with the "Sparklette's" both Diva and DWNN swapping riah's for Davina Sparkle type wigs and acting as backing singers while Davina sang "The Lady is a tramp"! Again the audience were in stitches and this was swiftly followed by a viewing on the screens of the outakes from the previous video! After several attempts at duetting "You raise me up" (Diva still corpsing on stage) the duo finally finished their performance to thunderous and appreciative applause from the audience!

A hearty congratulations to Jamie for an amazing drag debut as Miss Diva Watson - and huge appreciation to the Drag With No Name and Andy B for allowing us the opportunity to witness an amazing new talent!
