review

Sandwiched between two fairly relaxed French acts, Dominque A tried his best to liven the Udderbelly audience up.

After setting up the stage and soundchecking himself, he began with no introduction and immediately enveloped the crowd as his one man band stamped and clapped through the set.

Putting himself down between several songs, he described his work as “shitty New Order songs” and one song as being “very long and boring”. This was thankfully not the case.

His interesting use of foot pedals to record not only his voice but guitar too, brought a distinct richness to his performance that is not so openly noticed in larger acts.

A passion to perform was apparent during every song.
