Bucks Fizz!...
review
For those of us who sometimes get the distinct feeling that we're getting too old for all this (whatever 'this' might be), Wednesday night at Revenge provided an opportunity to feel young again.
Bucks Fizz were busy winning Eurovision and pulled a string of top 10 hits out of the bag before most of you (sorry... us...) were born. 1981 was the year they struck Eurovision gold with "Making Your Mind Up", and they went on to get another number one hit later in the year with "Land of Make Believe".
Tonight three of the original band members arrived at Revenge early for a sound check (yes, that's right... no miming for these Eurovision winners) and belted out their hits later in the night to a very appreciative crowd. It's only when you hear all these songs sung back to back that you realise just how long they've been around. Not... cough... that your trusty reviewer recognised any of them of course. The band had even resurrected their high energy 80's dance routines to accompany many of the tracks...
Whatever anyone tells you, you're never too old as long as you don't take yourself too seriously. I've just saved myself years of therapy...

about Revenge

If Brighton is widely regarded as the gay capital of the UK, then Revenge is its Big Gay Cathedral. A whopping two floors of a club, giving you a choice of music music, decor and people. And with both floors being so big you can stand and chat by the bar without having to scream at each other over the music. Sitting in the windows upstairs you can while away your time looking out over the Pier or ... The next Revenge date for your diary:

about R-Bar

Just a stone's throw from the pier and right in the middle of it all, R-Bar is a spacious, relaxing place to meet at any time of day, with plenty of opportunity for people-watching. Recently taken over by Revenge, it is perfectly placed for pre-club drinking. The next R-Bar date for your diary:
