Cabaret Bonanza...
review
A sunny Sunday afternoon, at last, and the Black Horse had a packed line-up of local cabaret talent giving up their time to raise funds for the Parkinson’s Disease Society.
It was hosted in turns by Dame Margot Hamilton and Trudi Styles and the featured lineup included Miss Maisie Trollette, Lilli La France, Deborah D’Arcy, Cherry Poppins and Jamie Watson giving it their all for charity.
The fine weather eased the way for us newly-banished smokers to be able to nip out for a quick fag while still being able to hear the acts on stage in the front bar.
The Black Horse has a great mixed atmosphere, as you would expect for a local pub in North Laine, with drag queens mixing easily with mods on scooters (where did they come from?!).
Well done to everyone involved!

about The Black Horse
|
The Black Horse, close to the new Jubilee Library in the heart of Brighton's Cultural Quarter, is a traditional pub with plenty of heart and captures some of that true Brighton character. The friendly bar to the front offers plenty of entertainment throughout the week, including live music and regular cabaret, whilst a separate dining area at the back means that you can still enjoy a meal and a chat even with all that going on.
